GMATS-ICSC Supply Chain Integrity Program Focuses on Securing Global Commerce
WASHINGTON (Feb. 17, 2006) — The International Cargo Security Council (ICSC), in cooperation and partnership with the Global Maritime and Transportation School (GMATS), proudly presents the Supply Chain Integrity Program, at the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point, N.Y., March 14-17, 2006.
This comprehensive certificate program will cover critical topics in supply chain security, such as government security initiatives (C-TPAT, CSI and OSC), the vulnerability of transportation systems to cargo theft, industry best practices and cargo terrorism.
One day of the program will be devoted to field visits to three major facilities for road, air and ocean freight.
"ICSC is proud of its relationship with GMATS," said ICSC Chairman Scott Smith. "The Supply Chain Integrity Program is an integral part of ICSC s educational offerings, which cover the latest, most relevant challenges and solutions in global commerce."
Attendees are expected to include professionals from the government and business communities, namely law enforcement agencies, manufacturing and distribution firms, risk management and financial institutions, transportation companies and other organizations involved in supply chain protection.
