Scott Harrison Smith elected Chairman of International Cargo Security Council

ANNAPOLIS, MD--December 29, 2004--Scott Harrison Smith, President of Alpha Cargo Technology, LLC, Eden Prairie, MN, was elected Chairman of the International Cargo Security Council (ICSC) for 2005. He will serve a one-year term beginning January 1.

Mr. Smith was previously the Council’s Vice Chairman, Secretary and Chair of five committees: Seals, Roundtable, Contract Oversight, Marketing and International.

Mr. Smith’s company, Alpha Cargo Technology, a cargo-security seal manufacturer and distributor, is best known for its premier grade cable seals which provide the ultimate tamper evidence. Mr. Smith also is President of Harrison Consulting Group, an international management-consulting firm that specializes in intermodal security.

An advisor to the Technology Team of the U.S. Department of Treasury’s Subcommittee on U.S. Border Security, Mr. Smith holds an M.B.A. from the American Graduate School of International Management (Thunderbird) and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin in business and international studies.

The International Cargo Security Council, based in Annapolis, MD, is an association of nearly 1,100 cargo transportation and security professionals from the entire spectrum of cargo security: air, truck, rail, maritime and intermodal. The organization, formerly called the National Cargo Security Council, broadened its reach to include international members in late 2004.
